Football Prediction Guide

Handicap & Over/Under (Quarter Lines Explained)

1. Asian Handicap

Asian Handicaps are designed to remove the possibility of a draw and make the contest more even.

When the handicap includes 0.25 or 0.75, your bet is split into two half-bets on the nearest whole or half number.

Result Example

Outcome

-0.25 (-¼)

Half on 0, half on -0.5

Win by 1+ → Win allDraw → Lose halfLose → Lose all

+0.25 (+¼)

Half on 0, half on +0.5

Win → Win allDraw → Win halfLose → Lose all

-0.75 (-¾)

Half on -0.5, half on -1.0

Win by 2+ → Win allWin by 1 → Win halfDraw/Lose → Lose all

+0.75 (+¾)

Half on +0.5, half on +1.0

Win/Draw → Win allLose by 1 → Lose halfLose by 2+ → Lose all

Example:

If you bet on Team A at -0.25, half your stake is on 0 (draw = refund) and half is on -0.5 (draw = lose).

So if the match ends in a draw, you lose half your bet — a “half loss”.

2. Over/Under (Total Goals)

Quarter lines also apply to Total Goals (Over/Under) betting.

Your stake is split between two adjacent goal lines.

Possible Partial Outcome

0.25 (¼)

Between 0 and 0.5

Win half / Lose half

0.75 (¾)
