How to Avoid Scam Trades on Steam

These tips will help you avoid common scams when depositing items from VPTOP or trading on Steam.

1. Keep Your Account Information Private

Never log in to your Steam account on unfamiliar or suspicious websites, as they may be phishing scams designed to steal your credentials. Some of these sites may closely mimic the appearance of the official Steam Community. Always double-check the URL and ensure it starts with https://steamcommunity.com before entering your login details.

Do not share your account credentials, passwords, or authenticator codes with others or any third-party services.

2. Always Verify the Trade Offer

When depositing on VPTOP

  1. always access the Steam trade offer via the link provided within VPTOP (the "Go to steam" Link) and only process the corresponding trade.

  2. Be sure to verify the sender’s Steam nickname, account level, and account age — especially during mobile confirmation.

If you notice anything suspicious or receive a “trade declined” notification, do not attempt to re-confirm the offer. Stay alert and report the issue to customer support immediately.

3. Beware of Fake “Customer Support” Representatives

Scammers may impersonate official staff by using similar names, avatars, or messaging styles. VPTOP support will never contact you via Steam, Discord, or private messages to request trades or sensitive information. Always verify support interactions through our official website or help center only.

⚠️ Notice: The VPTOP team will only send notifications related to your account activity. We will never ask for your password, verification codes, API keys, or any sensitive information.

Please stay alert and beware of impersonation or scam attempts.
